Prospective students
2017 International Summer School on China Food Quality and Safety will be organized by School of Agriculture and Biology. It is aimed to illustrate China food safety situation covering the whole food chain from farm to table. Oversea students and Chinese students will stay together to accept the wonderful professional courses and training activities related to food quality and safety inspection, assessment and management, in training bases, well-known food companies and government agencies. Let the students be able to learn professional knowledge, to enhance understanding of Chinese food quality and safety status, to apply knowledge in practice, and to experience the unique culture of Shanghai and China. Through this project, students can be cultivated with a strong sense of globalization, strong sense of social responsibility and excellent leadership.

Contents: multiple lectures, seminars, field trips and study tours
a. Contemporary Chinese Food Safety. Through lectures, student seminars and field trips, the overview of food safety around the world, and the status of current Chinese food safety from farm to table will be introduced and understood.
b. New trends on food safety monitoring and control. Through lectures and field trips, the state-of-the-art technologies on food safety monitoring and control will be introduced.
c. China food culture. Through lectures and study tours, Shanghai style and other Chinese styled food will be introduced and tasted.

Fees:
Tuition: 1000 RMB
Others: meals (~50 RMB/day) and transportation
The summer school will cover the costs of lecture materials, lodging (in SJTU student dormitory), and transportation for group activities.
Scholarship:
Amount: 1000 RMB/ person.
Number: more than 80% enrolled participants.
Scholarship covers the tuition fee.
