On August 18, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the results of 2021 NSFC project evaluation. The School of Agriculture and Biology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) has been approved 32 NSFC projects, making a historic breakthrough in the number of projects approved and the application of "outstanding youth".
The funded projects include 1 Outstanding Youth Science Fund Project, 19 general Projects, 11 Youth Science Fund Projects, and 1 international cooperation and exchange project, with a total funding of over 15 million yuan. The funding rate of "Youth Science Fund projects" and "general projects" was 23.4% and 31.14% respectively.

The continuous improvement of the application quality, number of projects and subjects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China shows the continuous improvement of the scientific research strength of the College. The College of Agriculture and Biology attaches great importance to the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). By mobilizing, organizing experience exchange and providing expert guidance, the College has achieved a steady increase in the number of projects approved by the NATIONAL Natural Science Foundation of China (25 projects were approved in 2019 and 29 projects were approved in 2020).
