Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the University of Warwick are cementing their long-standing collaboration with a new doctoral program, fostering the next generation of research leaders, and tackling global challenges through joint expertise.

The new joint PhD program, launching in 2024, represents a major step forward. Up to eight students will be recruited annually, benefiting from co-supervision by faculty from both universities. Notably, the inaugural cohort will involve supervisors who hold SJTU-Warwick Joint Seed Fund awards, allowing them to expand and deepen their existing research projects.

This program is not limited to these initial projects. Future rounds will be open to new applications, welcoming all faculty interested in collaborating with University of Warwick to discuss their research proposals. Through this open and collaborative structure, SJTU and Warwick aim to nurture groundbreaking research with global impact, equipping future leaders with the knowledge and skills to address the world's most pressing challenges.
